Accenture - Kenya

Financial Sector Deepening (FSD) Kenya recognises the critical role of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs) in providing access to financial services to low income households in Kenya. SACCOs are one of the leading sources of rural finance and in many rural areas the local SACCO is the only provider of financial services. In a recent review by Accenture on behalf of the FSD Kenya, Fern Software was rated number 1 out of a total of 23 vendors.

Queensland Export Awards - Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Towards the end of 2010 our own Dr Alan McCabe, Fern's general manager for the Asia/Pacific region, was honoured for his stellar performance by receiving the Queensland Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. The award recognises Fern's success in the region and Dr McCabe was presented with the award by Queensland Premier Anna Bligh at a gala awards ceremony in the city of Brisbane.

The award was based on business success, company expansion and contribution to the region in general.

Fern looks forward to continued success in the region in 2011 and beyond.

Investors In People (IIP)

IIP

Investors in People is the national UK Standard which sets a level of good practice for training and development of people to achieve business goals. The Standard was developed during 1990 by the National Training Task Force in partnership with leading national business, personnel, professional and employee organisations such as the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), Trades Union Congress (TUC) and the Institute of Personnel and Development (IPD). The work was supported by the Employment Department. The experiences of the UK's most successful organisations, large and small, representing all sectors of the UK economy, were very positive and the Standard received the full endorsement of the wide range of interested parties
